Trucks for Sale Albany, NY

There’s really nothing like a truck when living around Albany, New York. Sure, we might not get as much snow as they do further north, but there’s never a break in the weather, and an average snowfall of 52 inches is nothing to laugh at. Of course, that’s what makes living here so beautiful. We have all four seasons. We can enjoy the summers and still look forward to brisk falls and incredible white holiday seasons. Now, while all of this is great, it might also mean you are on the hunt for trucks for sale. Albany, NY, is a great place to start (and end) your search. A good truck will give you a bed to take your equipment up to the lake or your canoe out to the Hudson. If you’re searching for a four-wheel drive truck, you’ll gain the extra power and performance to make it through even the heaviest snowfalls. Because while we love the seasons here in Albany, it’s always best to be prepared for whatever the weather might bring. And the best way to be prepared for anything is with a pickup truck. Here at DePaula Chevy, we have a wide range of new and used trucks, one of which has your name on it.

Be Part Of Chevy Truck History

General Motors first started to produce pickups after it created its GMC Truck lineup. However, it didn’t take long before it started to put out commercial trucks under the Chevy brand.

Chevy experimented with a handful of vehicle designs, although it got itself going with the creation of the 1915 Chevy Model 490, which cost $490 at the time. Chevy built this vehicle to compete with the popular Ford Model T. Using the 1915 Model 490 as its base, Chevy went on to release its very first truck in 1918 with the 1918 Chevy Model 490. It was used as a light delivery vehicle and was the company’s first half-ton truck. However, there was a large amount of customer installation with this option. It came with a flatbed, but to allow for customization, the truck came with several installation options, which a buyer could put in. Essentially, Chevy sold it as a chassis and then allowed the customers to do what they wanted with the back end of the truck.

Later in the year, Chevy released a new pickup, referred to as the One-Ton Truck, thanks to its 2,000-pound payload capacity. This truck used a 4-cylinder engine that produced 36 horsepower, yet it could still carry a good deal.

Eventually, Chevy stopped production of these two trucks and moved to its Superior Series in 1922. Throughout this entire period, Chevy continued only to provide a chassis and cowl. However, by 1929 Chevy released its International Series AC. This was a big deal as it offered the first 3.2L I6 engine in a Chevy truck. The truck (designed for delivery purposes) could produce 46 horsepower and, more importantly, 125 lb-ft of torque. This particular model was nicknamed the “Stovebolt” due to the fasteners looking like a wood stove (and the cast iron pistons used in the engine helped with the name as well).

Starting with this 1931 pickup, Chevy began to move forward, offering larger and more powerful trucks. And now, it is a world leader in pickups, from the smaller Chevy Colorado to the hard-working Silverado 3500HD (and even larger work trucks). If you decide to purchase one of their trucks, you’ll etch your name into Chevy’s history books.

The 2020 Chevy Colorado

With the newly available remote-locking tailgate and lots of updated features, the 2020 Chevy Colorado is the mid-size pickup truck that you need in your life. Highly customizable and offered in two body styles (extended or crew cab), this well-rounded vehicle can get the tough jobs done and handle city driving with ease. Starting at $21,300, you can choose between five trims and three engines depending on which one suits your lifestyle. Let’s break them all down!

The Base model is powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission. With a RWD system in place, this version generates 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque. Riding on 16-inch steel wheels, the Colorado Base comes with air conditioning, power accessories, and easy-to-clean vinyl upholstery. However, it is not a bare-bones truck. It also features advanced infotainment options including Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and dual USB ports. This digital interface is displayed on a 7-inch touchscreen, making it easy to navigate through the menu. You can also listen to your favorite tunes through the 6-speaker sound system. Keep in mind that the Base model is available as an extended cab truck.

Next is the WT version, which stands for Work Truck. Offered in both the extended and crew cab body styles, you have much more versatility here. First, you can choose between two available engines. This model can come with a 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel 4-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that produces 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. It can also come equipped with a stronger 3.6L V6 mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain puts out 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. A few notable upgrades at this level include remote keyless entry, cruise control, OnStar services, and a 4G LTE Wifi hotspot. It also comes with the EZ Lift tailgate that can lock remotely.

The mid-level LT model rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels and features a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel that has been wrapped in leather. This adds a touch of sophistication to the cabin. The infotainment interface also gets a facelift with a larger 8-inch touchscreen and additional USB outlets for charging extra mobile devices. Optional features at this team level include heated seats, a navigation system, and automatic climate control. You can also add safety features such as lane-departure and forward-collision warnings.

Moving up the chain, the upper-level Z71 includes off-roading enhancements such as all-terrain tires, a locking rear differential, hill descent control, and a revised suspension for handling rougher roads. However, if you want a truck that has the spirit of a true adventurer, you should take a peek at the ZR2. Equipped with bigger all-terrain tires and fender flares, it can crawl over rocks with no problem at all. Its raised suspension with special dampers and electronically locking rear differential make it the optimal off-road warrior.

The 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500

With new engine options and safety features, the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 has been redesigned with more space, an improved fuel economy, and more style. As a full-size pickup truck with eight trim levels to choose from, you can find one that’s perfect for your needs. Starting at $28,300 and available in three body styles, you can pick between the regular two-door cab that seats two passengers, the four-door extended cab that seats four, or the crew cab, which seats five and has four full-size doors. Let’s take a look at the various trims and what you get with each.

First is the base WT model. This is the work truck of the family, and it is powered by a robust 4.3L V6 engine. Equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, this powertrain puts out 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. Standard features include air conditioning, a 6-speaker stereo system, and an advanced infotainment interface. This innovative system is displayed on a 7-inch touchscreen and operates with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. You can easily make and receive calls hands-free, listen to your personalized playlists, and navigate through your favorite apps.

Moving up to the Custom changing a few details such as adding front tow hooks, power/heated exterior side mirrors, and cruise control. Taking just another half-step up to the Custom Trail Boss will get you an off-roading suspension, a trailering package, and 4WD.

The mid-level LT model builds off of the Custom models by adding another powertrain choice. Here, you can opt for the turbocharged 2.7L four-cylinder engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Together, they can get up to 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque. This trim also gets a tailgate damper, LED headlights, and a larger 8-inch touchscreen. Next is the RST, which is similar but with a few extra perks. It offers remote start, in-bed lighting, and a power-locking/power-release tailgate. The last mid-level trim is known as the LT Trail Boss, and it comes with a 5.3L V8 engine. Coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission and dual exhaust, this powertrain generates 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque.

Climbing the ladder to the LTZ adds comfort features such as heated leather seats, dual-zone climate control, and a heated tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. It also comes with advanced tech features like an HD rearview camera, a navigation system, and dual 120-volt power outlets. A trailer brake controller has also been added.

Lastly, the top-tier High Country model includes luxury features such as heated/ventilated seats, a 7-speaker Bose stereo system, and a wireless charging pad to help declutter the cabin. Advanced safety features include front/back parking sensors, blindspot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning.

Other optional engines at higher trim levels include a turbocharged diesel 3.0L inline-6 engine rated at 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, a 6.2L V8 engine that makes 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both come with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The 2020 Chevy Silverado HD Models

Weighing in at the heavy-duty level and starting at $37,600, the new 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 comes standard with a robust 6.6L V8 engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that generates 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. The optional 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel V8 engine is coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission and puts out 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is only available at the Custom trim level or higher.

The base WT (Work Truck) model is equipped similarly to the Silverado 1500 base model. It comes with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, which is the main highlight at this level. Next is the Custom, which adds larger wheels, full power accessories, and cruise control. Moving to the LT model gets you heated/power side mirrors, cloth upholstery, a remote locking tailgate, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The mid-level LTS is where things start to change. Here, you get heated leather seats, a seven-pin wiring harness with a trailer brake controller, and a larger 8-inch touchscreen for the infotainment interface. Finally, the premium High Country trim includes ventilated seats and a Bose stereo system. It also comes with a spray-in bedliner and side assist steps.
