The RST is known as a sports-focused trim, and there are some noteworthy changes and updates for the 2023 model year that really highlight the model's capabilities. This includes an overhaul to the very popular Duramax turbo-diesel. The 3.0-liter Duramax has had an increase in its performance, with 10% additional horsepower and 7.6% more torque. Thanks to an overhaul in key engineering aspects, the Duramax is now more durable and powerful than ever before.
Joining the updated performance of the diesel powertrain are two all-new exterior color options. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission to provide excellent fuel economy that tops out at 19 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway. The TurboMax and the rest of the power plants are available in rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
The Silverado 1500 RST has access to three additional engines, so you can customize it based on what you need from it when it comes to performance. The 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 is the perfect upgrade for drivers who want more power for their RST, providing 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. The 5.3-liter V8 is married to a 10-speed automatic transmission and delivers a max fuel economy of 17 MPG in the city and 21 MPG on the highway.
Moving up on the list, there is the 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8, which provides you with the most horsepower available for the Silverado 1500.
