  The Standard 5.3L V8 Engine

  Your 2024 Chevy Tahoe will be built with one of three possible powertrain configurations. There are two things that all three powertrains have in common: the option between RWD and 4WD and that each of the three engines comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The base 2024 Tahoe comes with a 5.3L V8 engine, which not only attributes to 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque but also helps facilitate the 2024 Tahoe’s maximum towing capacity of 8,400 lbs.

  Fuel efficiency ratings for any engine but the base 5.3L V8 can sometimes differ between the two drivetrain options, but with that base V8 engine, the fuel economy ratings are a match between the two. This means regardless of whether your 2024 Tahoe uses RWD or 4WD, your 5.3L V8 engine nets you EPA-estimated ratings of 15 MPG in the city and 20 MPG on the highway, which calls for 17 MPG combined.

  The 6.2L V8 Engine

  The 6.2L V8 engine is a bit different in that it’s available with two performance profiles thanks to the availability of the 2024 Tahoe RST Performance Edition. In its regular implementation, the 6.2L V8 engine pushes 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The RST Performance Edition, however, slightly increases these numbers to 433 hp and 467 lb-ft of torque.

  The weight capacity you can facilitate with the 6.2L V8 engine isn’t too different from the base engine, which has a capacity of 8,300 lbs. City mileage and the combined ratings are the same between RWD and 4WD with the 6.2L V8 engine, so you’ll get 14 MPG in the city and 16 MPG combined. On the highway, you’ll get 20 MPG with RWD, while 4WD has 18 MPG.

  The 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel Engine

  The best fuel efficiency stems from the available turbo-diesel 3.0L I-6 engine. This powertrain, whether you buy the 2024 Tahoe with RWD or 4WD, is a far cry from the V8 engines, with EPA-estimated ratings of 21 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway (24 MPG combined) with RWD and 20 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway with 4WD. Along with the best fuel efficiency, the turbo-diesel engine matches the 6.2L V8 engine’s 460 lb-ft of torque, pushing out 277 hp and ultimately calling for a maximum towing capacity of 8,200 lbs.

  The 2024 Chevy Tahoe offers three ways to utilize its excellent cargo space. The seating arrangement in the 2024 Tahoe is configurable, so if you’re traveling with less than five people, you don’t need that third row of seating up. Given that the length of the 2024 Tahoe is over 17.5 ft, you can easily attach kayaks or bikes to the top of the SUV, but if you’re traveling by yourself, you can easily fit a white water kayak in the back.   Cargo Volume

  With the 2024 Chevy Tahoe, the maximum amount of cargo space you can get is by folding down both rows of seats; you’ll get 122.9 cu.ft. of space. Not removing the second-row seats from the equation but keeping the third row folded means you’re still set with 72.6 cu.ft. retained for you and your front and second-row passengers. No matter what configuration your seats are set in, and regardless of meeting the maximum passenger capacity of eight people, you’ll always have at least 25.5 cu.ft. of space, which is comparable to a subcompact hatchback with no passengers aboard.

There’s tech built into nearly every facet of the automotive experience, from the seats you’re sitting on to the touchscreen you’re navigating your infotainment center with. An instant indication the 2024 Tahoe is a premium automobile is its seating. If you buy the LS, which is the most cost-effective 2024 Tahoe trim, you’ll get a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and your accompanying front-row passenger will have an 8-way power-adjustable seat. These seats are cloth on the LS trim, but there’s a premium cloth option exclusive to the LS.

  Seating Options

  Quick side note on the chairs inside the 2024 Tahoe. Your 2024 Tahoe’s front seats are upgraded in the LT trim from cloth to real leather, but you’ll have to opt for the leather chairs in the second row unless you buy the Premier, Z71, or RST. The leather seats are available in different colors depending on which trim you buy, with the High Country mixing its jet black coloring with a mocha color, the RST mixing jet black with red, and the Premier has a more beige color called maple sugar. There are also perforated leather chairs depending on which Tahoe trim you buy.

  The tech built into the chairs is the most impressive part because it is possible for both you and your front-seat passenger to have 10-way power-adjustable seats, and the Premier trim can upgrade both of you to 12-way power-adjustable seats. If it’s any surprise, these seats can be heated and ventilated depending on the configuration, and the second-row seats can also provide heating on trims that support it – standard on the Premier and optional on the LT, for example.

  Freezing winter mornings no longer provide discomfort to your hands thanks to a heated steering wheel you can opt for on some trims and coming standard on the Premier. If you’re feeling cold and need warmth but everyone else in the cabin is feeling otherwise, then you’ll all be happy thanks to Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Controls coming standard on every trim.

  Connectivity

  Your 2024 Tahoe comes with several pieces of tech geared toward making your life more convenient. For example, if you rely on a dependable internet connection for any reason, even if it’s during a camping trip, the 2024 Tahoe comes equipped with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot standard. Although the wireless phone charging pad doesn’t come standard on the base trim but comes with every other trim, every Tahoe trim, including the LS, comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard.

  Wireless tech makes your life more convenient because you won’t forget your USB cable at home or need to keep an extra in the car at all times. It’s still useful to have a USB cable on hand, however, because the Tahoe includes convenient USB ports for front-row and rear-row passengers. The infotainment centers in the 2024 Tahoe have screens ranging from 8 to 10.2 inches diagonally.

  Chevy Safety Assist

  What’s a full-size SUV without safety tech? It’s one thing that you’ll all be more protected by the masterfully constructed chassis of the 2024 Tahoe and seven airbags standard.
