The Chevy Silverado 1500 celebrates 24 years of excellence with its 2023 model. Since 1999, the Chevy Silverado 1500 has always been the epitome of reliability and performance combined with classic work truck looks. The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT trim specifically brings together the capabilities you need from a pickup, with some elevated convenience and comfort features to sweeten the deal. It’s a step above your workhorse Custom trim but not as fancy as the LTZ. For that reason, it remains neatly at an attractive price point, making it a trim many of our customers ask about. If you’re interested in the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT trim, we’d love to show you what it offers.
Drivers have long loved the great versatility of the Silverado 1500, and for those who want a light-duty truck that’s easy to maneuver as an everyday vehicle, the Silverado 1500 is a smart choice. Here, we’ll walk you through the highlights of this terrific truck. Once you’re ready to check it out in person, our team here at DePaula Chevrolet will be happy to take you for a test drive and show you everything this iconic truck has to offer.

The many engine options of the Silverado lineup have always been a selling point among truck drivers. The LT offers the full lineup of engine options for the truck. It’ll get a standard 2.7L turbo high-output engine; however, you can opt for the available 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine if you want more oomph (like higher towing and payload figures). Additionally, if you want to access the maximum 13,300-pound trailering capacity of the LT trim, you can move up to the available 3.0L Turbo Diesel engine. If you plan on towing a boat, RV, or serious equipment like a snow plow, this heavy-duty engine has you covered. With 495 lb-ft of torque, it’s got the kick you need when utilizing the trailering abilities.
As for the transmission on the LT, you’ll see a standard 8-speed automatic transmission, which already has plenty of useful small steps. That said, if you want even more command over ever-changing terrain (especially when trailering), check out the available 10-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision shift. This special system lets you shift gears by simply pushing a button rather than the traditional gear knob. It creates a very clean driver’s center area and lets you get your hand back on the wheel quicker, which is nice when towing. The 10-speed transmission also gives you two more small steps than the standard transmission for less power loss when shifting uphill and trailering.
Since we are in New York, we know the weather can be unpredictable. That’s why we love telling drivers about the standard StabiliTrak feature, an electronic stability control system with traction control. It can quickly detect when you’ve lost control on wet or snowy roads and makes rapid adjustments to improve traction. This adds an added layer of confidence when traveling through difficult driving conditions, like the dense snow we experience in the winter months in this corner of New York.
The interior of the LT is something we really like to show off to drivers who are considering this celebrated pickup. The convenience and comfort features found here are what make the LT trim so special.
Let’s start with the driver’s seat, which will be a standard 10-way power driver seat with power lumbar support. You can adjust this seat to your perfect specifications for your driving comfort and arrive at your destination with reduced lower back fatigue thanks to that lumbar feature. Meanwhile, your front seat passenger gets a 4-way manual seat, so even they can get their seating angle and height just right for long drives.
Plus, you get a standard heated driver and front outboard passenger seats, ideal for quickly warming you up after those famously chilly Albany winter days. Also, on the climate-control front, you get Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control to reduce temperature-setting conflicts between you and your front-seat passenger. It will remember your desired climate settings and automatically reset to them each time you start the vehicle.
Creating just the right amount of interior cargo space is easy, thanks to a 40/20/40 split-bench front seat with under-seat storage. You can hide valuables beneath that front seat when you step away from the vehicle. Meanwhile, you’ll find a 60/40 split-folding rear bench seat in the back, giving you even more ways to make room for your belongings.
The technology in the LT trim is a high point, too. It gets the standard 13.4-inch diagonal Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system with Google built-in. This massive color screen makes it easy to follow along with your navigation. Plus, the Infotainment 3 Premium has advanced voice recognition that easily understands your natural talking rhythm. That will come in handy when you’re asking the built-in Google for directions or restaurant recommendations along your route.
We always tell our customers that the LT trim is like a workhorse for DIYers who like the finer things. But, at its core, it’s ready to help contractors, builders, agriculturists, and hard workers get through their tasks.
So for starters, you get the standard Durabed, which boasts best-in-class bed volume to help you store more tools, equipment, materials, and more. You can also opt for the ChevyTec spray-on bedliner, a protective coating that will fend off little nicks and dings to your truck bed from your cargo.
Securing everything in your bed is easy, too, thanks to the convenient cargo tie-downs. And if you need to tie down your belongings after the sun sets, the good news is that the 1500 LT has standard cargo bed LED lighting for great nighttime visibility. It also has cab-mounted cargo area lamps for even better visibility of your bed cargo. If you constantly need to access things in your truck bed, you’ll appreciate the CornerStep rear bumper that you can hop onto. The standard assist handles will also help you steady yourself as you reach into your truck bed.
One of our favorite features to show off in this trim’s bed is the tailgate with EZ Lift assist, power lock & release. Through this feature, you simply double-press a button on your keyfob to automatically release the tailgate, which is very useful when your hands are full. It will also let the tailgate lower and rise gently to minimize damage. This can prolong the life of your tailgate, especially for active DIYers. Additionally, the power lock refers to your ability to lock the tailgate to better secure the items inside and prevent them from sliding out.
