Looking at the Toyota RAV4, we find a huge number of different trim levels in part because there are different hybrid engines available. In fact, some trims are exclusive to certain hybrid powertrains, like the Hybrid Woodland Edition and Hybrid XSE, which unnecessarily restricts people who might like some of those features but not the cost of the hybrid engine.
If you are not interested in higher trims and prefer keeping things simple with the starting features of your compact SUV, then Chevy has you covered there. The 2025 Equinox comes with a gorgeous 11.3-inch infotainment display with Google built-in, an 11-inch Driver Information Center, heated front seats, and more. With the RAV4, standard features include an eight-inch Toyota Multimedia screen and a seven-inch Multi-Information Display; comfort features like heated front seats are not even available for the standard LE trim. The fact that you get such impressive standard features at a lower starting price, plus amazing safety tech with Chevy Safety Assist, makes it easy to see why so many people prefer the Equinox.

One of the things we love about the Chevy lineup these days, which can be easy to overlook and not fully appreciate at first glance, is how well each model is set up across different trim levels. While some Chevy vehicles can have a large number of trims—like the Silverado 1500 or the Suburban—others keep things a lot simpler for you. Choosing the RS trim instead gets you Torch Red and Santorini Blue interior details, 19-inch wheels, and unique styling on the outside. Best of all, the ACTIV and RS have the same starting price, so you can choose which one you prefer without missing anything.
The RAV4’s Large and Complicated Lineup
Looking at the 2025 RAV4, Toyota has made things much more complicated, and the result is a selection of nearly a dozen different trims for a compact SUV. Four different models are offered with the standard engine, while seven more options come in with different hybrid powertrains, creating a selection that is not easy to navigate at a glance. Making things more complex, select models are only offered as a hybrid option, like the Hybrid Woodland Edition. We like the off-road suspension and all-terrain tires offered with this trim, but the fact that you can only get it with the higher-priced hybrid engine feels like a mistake to us. In the end, Chevy keeps things simpler while still giving you amazing options to choose from.
Interior Features

The RAV4’s Limited Tech Options
Looking at the Toyota RAV4, the standard features are far more limited by comparison, and it falls short in a number of key ways. For starters, an eight-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia display is standard for the RAV4; a larger screen is offered on higher trims, but it is a 10.5-inch display that is still smaller than what the Equinox comes with as standard. A digital speedometer with a seven-inch Multi-Information Display is standard, substantially smaller than the screen you get with the Chevy Equinox. Toyota provides fabric-trimmed seating, but heated front seats are not even available for the starting trim, only higher-end models.

A Following Distance Indicator warns you if you are too close to the vehicle ahead of you, while IntelliBeam headlights can turn off your high beams automatically to avoid blinding other drivers. Taking things further, every 2025 Equinox comes with Rear Park Assist, Blind Zone Steering Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking to help you maneuver through parking lots and back up more safely.
The RAV4’s Standard Safety Features Are Limited
