2016 Chevy Silverado Heads to Dealerships this Fall

The Chevrolet Silverado has been a full-size pickup truck force on American roadways since it was first introduced back in 1999. The Silverado replaced the Chevrolet C/K line, which sold from 1975 until 1998. Silverado even took its name from its predecessor, which was one of the trim levels available on the Chevy C/K. Much has changed since the first Silverado rolled off the assembly line, and Chevrolet just announced that the newest iteration will hit Chevy dealers in Albany NY and around the U.S. by late fall.

The Chevrolet Silverado has been a popular force in the Lonestar State, so it was only fitting that Chevrolet unveiled the face lifted Silverado at the Texas State Fair this week. Prior to this unveiling, the bowtie brand had given glimpses of the 2016 Silverado to the public, but this was the first time the truck was fully revealed. The response was positive, and the upgrades given to the full-size pickup truck were fitting. No other Silverado model has been as technologically connected than the newest 2016 version.

 Third Generation Face Lift

The 2016 Chevy Silverado may not be an entirely new generation of the popular pickup truck, but it will sport a small face lift and improvements from the outgoing model year. Whether you are a pickup truck driver who values performance, technology, comfort, or aesthetic appeal – the 2016 Chevy Silverado delivers on all accounts. The newest version of Chevy’s pickup is packed full of new features, and even sports a new look. Check out some of the 2016 Silverado’s most striking improvements for this model year.

• Safety – The standard suite of safety features on the 2016 Silverado are the same from the previous year. Drivers are able to choose from more advanced optional safety features for their 2016 Silverado, which include lane-keep assist, forward collision alert, and high-beam headlamp assist.
• Technology – One of the most impressive improvements to the newest Silverado is its offering of in-vehicle technology. Chevrolet has put a major emphasis on the connectivity of the 2016 Silverado, which gains the newest version of the Chevy MyLink infotainment system. This upgrade is important, as the new Chevy MyLink systems support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. The 2016 Chevy Silverado seems to have gained all of the right improvements, without any excess frills. • Apple CarPlay & Android Audio –  Integrated directly into the MyLink system, Apple CarPlay allows  drivers to choose a collection of apps that they will most likely need on the go. From music, to text-to-voice, maps, and contacts – Apple CarPlay connects your iPhone directly to the MyLink system on the 2016 Silverado. Android Audio is also available with the newest MyLink system, which essentially offers the same choices for drivers who use an Android smartphone, rather than an iPhone.

When You Can Get Your 2016 Silverado

The 2016 Chevy Silverado is slated to arrive at dealerships by the end of this fall. Those of you who don’t like waiting, can head online and check out the specs and more detailed information regarding the latest version of the pickup truck.

Chevrolet has not yet announced pricing on the 2016 Silverado, but those figures are expected to be revealed within the next few weeks. Chevrolet has a page dedicated to the newest Silverado, but beyond the information we have provided here, not much else has been divulged.

Those of you who are die hard pickup truck fans, may want to hold out on purchasing the 2016 Silverado for a bit. Chevrolet has hinted at, and even promised that new special models of the Silverado can be expected. No word on when we can expect special editions of the 2016 Silverado, but if they are anything like the special editions of the past, they might just be worth waiting for.
