Trim selection is the center of what every SUV shopper should be focusing on before deciding to go onto a dealer’s lot and look to purchase a full-size vehicle like the 2024 Chevy Suburban. The importance of the trim boils down to what features appeal to you, what interior options you want, and what kind of luxury items you value from a vehicle. These options are great, but not everyone knows which trims come with what features.

This is where a trim guide like this one comes in handy because you can very easily get all of the necessary details on what the trim has to offer and what the benefits are for the vehicle. There are some basics that you should absolutely keep in mind before scouring the trims: the majority of the trims are available in rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, and select trims can be configured to seat seven, eight, or nine people across three rows. You also have multiple exterior color options in the form of Black, Silver Sage Metallic, Summit White, Empire Beige Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, Dark Ash Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, and Radiant Red Tintcoat.

Suburban LS Trim

As the base trim, the Suburban LS provides you with the most affordable option to get into owning a 2024 Chevy Suburban. It’s available with the 5.3-liter V8, which makes 355 hp at 383 lb-ft of torque, or the 3.0-liter Duramax, which makes 277 hp at 460 lb-ft of torque. Every Suburban trim is married to a 10-speed automatic transmission and has multiple wheel and tire options, depending on the trim you choose. The LS trim is available with a variety of all-season tire options. These options include painted aluminum machined wheels, carbon flash metallic wheels, and multi-spoke gloss wheels.

Regarding the interior, the LS comes with Jet Black or Gideon/Very Dark Atmosphere cloth seats. You can also have the option of front bucket seats or a 40/20/40 split bench for the front seats. You have multiple cup-holders, side-door storage compartments, center console storage, 8-way power front seats, a 4.2-inch driver information display, an 8-inch infotainment suite with the Chevy Infotainment System, Bluetooth support, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and three years of OnStar service.

The LS also comes standard with a lot of other convenience features, such as a cargo management system, with cargo capacity up to 41.5 cu.ft. of capacity behind the third row, 93.8 cu.ft. of space behind the second row with the third row folded, and 144.7 cu.ft. of cargo capacity with the second and third row folded. You have the full Chevy Safety Assist suite as a standard feature, along with cruise control, theft-deterrent, and an HD rear vision camera. Other convenience features come standard, like power doors, windows, and locks, as well as Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control.

Suburban LT Trim

The 2024 Suburban LT trim contains everything from the LS trim but also a few notable upgrades. When it comes to the powertrain, however, it’s exactly the same as the LS in terms of options. All of the performance and safety features that are available on the LS also come standard on the LT, including StabiliTrak for stability management and traction control.

On the exterior, you have body-colored mirror caps and body-colored door handles. Some of the other benefits of the LT trim come in the form of the auto-rear-view dimming mirror, a Bose 9-speaker audio system, bright sill plates, a universal home remote, and the hands-free power liftgate with the bowtie emblem projection on the ground. Inside, you have the option of either Jet Black leather-appointed seating surfaces or Gideon/Very Dark Atmosphere with leather-appointed seating. Unlike the LS, however, the LT is only available with two front bucket seats, as opposed to the split-bench option available on the LS.

The LT also sees the inclusion of 10-way power front driver and passenger seats with driver memory functionality. Another big benefit of the LT trim is that it comes with the enhanced Chevrolet Infotainment System. This upgrade over the LS trim features the 10.2-inch HD touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as wireless charging. Another benefit that comes standard on the LT trim is the 12-inch diagonal color driver information center, which also features customizable profiles for the driver.

Suburban RST Trim

The 2024 Suburban RST Trim is considered the performance trim. It’s designed to appeal to those who want a vehicle that can pump out power and get the most out of what the platform offers while also providing a lot of style. This is exemplified by the RST’s powertrain line-up of the 5.3-liter V8 or the 6.2-liter V8, the latter of which makes 420 hp at 460 lb-ft of torque. The RST comes standard with 22-inch bright machined high-gloss black-painted wheels, but you have multiple wheel options to explore if you want to. Black assist steps and side rails also come standard on the RST if you want to add a roof rack.

The RST comes with all of the standard and upgraded features of the LT trim, including all of the infotainment benefits, such as the SiriusXM Satellite Radio with a 360L three-month subscription. You also have all of the other standard infotainment and convenience features, such as Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity. The RST is chock full of various convenience features, too, such as multiple USB ports on the front console, in the second row, and in the third row. The RST is only available with front bucket seats configured with a Jet Black/Victory Red color scheme for the front heated perforated leather seats.

Suburban Z71 Trim

The Z71 is the off-road performance trim for the 2024 Chevy Suburban. The Z71 offers you three different powertrain options, including the 5.3-liter V8 and the 6.2-liter V8. The Z71 is also designed to be taken off-road, so it comes with red recovery hooks, the availability of air ride suspension, a performance front skid plate, black assist steps, roof-mounted side rails, 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with technical gray pockets, and all-terrain tires. The Z71 also comes with a modified high-approach front fascia to help it in off-road traversal.

The Z71 is also only available in four-wheel drive, given its off-road design. Inside, it has the option of a laid-back interior with Jet Black leather-appointed seating surfaces or a Gideon/Very Dark Atmosphere with leather-appointed seating surfaces. The Z71 can also be paired with the Z71 Off-Road Package, Off-Road Capability Package, or the Off-Road Performance Package for those really into off-road enthusiasm.

Suburban Premier Trim

For the 2024 Suburban Premier, it’s an upscale trim with various luxury elements. Like the other trims, it’s available with the 5.3-liter V8, 6.2-liter V8, or the 3.0-liter Duramax. The Premier comes with all of the other standard features from the previous trims but includes a lot of neat upgrades. The Premier comes with power 60/40 split-folding second and third-row bench seats, standard magnetic ride control, and dual staggered outlets on each side.

Another benefit is that this trim comes with 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, giving the vehicle an opulent exterior appeal. The Premier also comes with chrome door handles with a body-color strip and body-colored heated driver-side auto-dimming power outside mirrors. Inside the Premier, you have power tilt, telescoping steering, memory settings, and a safety alert seat. The infotainment suite comes with all of the standard features of the other trims but with the added benefit of a Bose 10-speaker surround sound CenterPoint audio system.

Suburban High Country Trim

The top-of-the-line trim availability of the 2024 Chevy Suburban is the High Country, which combines a lot of technology, comfort, and luxury into one great package. The High Country is only available with either the 3.0-liter Duramax or the 6.2-liter V8 powertrain. It’s available with the adaptive air ride suspension for improved handling. The exterior also comes standard with 22-inch sterling silver aluminum with chrome inserts. Body-color mirror caps come standard as well, along with a high-end front fascia exclusive to the High Country with active aero shutters.

LED lighting array and IntelliBeam functionality come standard on the High Country, along with deep-tinted acoustic laminated glass and a solar-absorbing windshield with Rainsense automatic wipers. Inside, the High Country comes with bright sill plates, a rear camera mirror with washer functionality, as well as some neat tech upgrades such as the multi-color 15-inch heads-up display with fully configurable telemetry on the driver’s side. There is also the inclusion of HD Surround Vision, which is excellent for parking and being made aware of nearby objects, and rear pedestrian alert. In addition to the other comfort, convenience, and infotainment features, the High Country also includes the option of Jet Black perforated leather seats or Jet Black/Mocha perforated leather seats.
