You can even go ahead and get on a waitlist, and our team will get in touch with you when they start arriving on our lot. Although many details have yet to be released, there are a few things we know already. Let’s explore these two fully-electric vehicles!

2022 Chevy Bolt EV

Anyone who has been thinking about going green will jump for joy when they realize that the upcoming 2022 Chevy Bolt EV offers drivers a 259-mile range and a $4,500 price drop from the 2021 model. In an attempt to get more people behind the wheels of eco-friendly models, the folks over at Chevrolet have decided to make these innovative vehicles more affordable. Making planet-saving changes isn’t just for the elite anymore. You, too, can make a difference.

Let’s take a look at the powertrain. The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV uses the same fully-electric set up as the 2021 model. Pushing out 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque, it provides drivers with an astonishing 259-miles of range. To put that number into perspective, the popular Nissan LEAF only offers 149 miles of range in its base model, and the six-figure Porsche Taycan tops out at 227 miles of range even with its largest battery option.

As for charging, the 2022 model will now come standard with DC Fast-Charging support. You will no longer need to get the premium trim or pay extra to add this feature, which allows you to add 100 miles of range in half an hour of public charging. Chevy has also made at-home charging more convenient with a Dual Level Charge Cord that can plug into either 120V or 240V outlets. If you want to install a Level 2 charging station for your house, Chevy is even offering to help cover the cost.

Bolt EV Features and Updates

The size of the 2022 Bolt EV is largely unchanged. With 16.6 cubic feet of trunk space, this hatchback has plenty of room. You can even fold the 60/40 split-folding seats down to reveal 57 cubic feet of maximum storage space. That is not bad at all for such a compact design, making it a particularly good choice for city drivers who need a versatile vehicle but who do not want to try squeezing an SUV into narrow parking spaces.

Inside the new Bolt EV, one small change is in the gear shifter. The new model will have a push-button system located on the center console. This saves space, and it also gives the vehicle a more streamlined look. Also located on the center console is another button that activates the one-pedal driving feature. This regenerative braking function allows you to stop the car without using the brake pedal. All you have to do is lift your foot from the accelerator, and the Bolt EV will begin to slow down. As it slows, the energy saved goes to the battery. It does take a bit of getting used to, but you’ll be a pro at the regenerative braking system in no time.

When it comes to infotainment, the 2022 version will continue to feature a giant 10.2-inch touchscreen standard. The same connectivity features will continue to be included, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto all standard. However, these features have now been updated with new wireless smartphone integration, so you do not have to plug in your phone to access its features. You will also be able to add a wireless charging pad to help cut down on clutter inside the cockpit.

Moving on to safety features, the 2022 Bolt EV now comes standard with the Chevy Safety Assist Package. This advanced suite includes Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist. You can even opt for Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control if you wish. Keep in mind that the Chevy Bolt EV has already earned a solid 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA every year that it has been sold, so you and your passengers will be safe wherever you go.

2022 Chevy Bolt EUV

Switching gears, let’s discuss the brand new upcoming 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV. As the first fully-electric SUV in the Chevrolet lineup, this model is a trailblazer. It comes with the same powertrain and regenerative braking system as the 2022 Bolt EV. However, the larger size of the Bolt EUV means that using the same 64-kWh battery pack provides drivers with a slightly lower range of about 250 miles.

Inside the cabin, you will find a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel and the same push-button gear selector. Approximately 6-inches longer than the Bolt EV, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is a spacious crossover that boasts comfortable seating and sleek design elements. It also gets the same infotainment system with the large 10.2-inch touchscreen and all of the aforementioned connectivity features.

As for the safety systems, every 2022 Bolt EUV comes with the same standard Chevy Safety Assist suite as the Bolt EV. However, the Bolt EUV also offers Super Cruise – a hands-free automated driving system. On over 200,000 miles of compatible roads, Super Cruise can take over the responsibility of driving for you. It uses LiDAR mapping data and advanced cameras to monitor the roads. Not only does this give you a chance to relax on lengthy car rides, but it also drastically reduces your risk of having an accident. Keep in mind that this feature will monitor your eyes while Super Cruise is activated. If you look away from the road too often, the feature will deactivate, and you will be prompted to take control of the vehicle.

Another safety feature that can be added is the HD Surround Vision camera system. This provides you with a birds-eye-view of your surroundings before you move the vehicle. Ideal for crowded parking lots, you won’t have to worry about getting into a parking lot accident again. This advanced array of safety systems, combined with its comfortable third row, makes the 2022 Bolt EUV an excellent family vehicle, offering a zero-emissions alternative to gasoline models like the Chevy Trailblazer and the Chevy Equinox. Even better, the low pricing of the 2022 Bolt EV applies to the Bolt EUV as well, with the new model still coming in at a lower price tag than the smaller and less well-equipped 2021 Bolt EV.
