Ordering Up the Right 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trim

The Chevy Silverado WT

Similar to the plain hamburger with nothing extra on it, the WT is the starting trim for the Chevy Silverado and a great place to begin. There are plenty of extra features and bells-and-whistles that you can get on the Silverado, but if you prefer keeping things simple, then this is where to look. The 2024 Silverado WT comes with the standard TurboMax engine with 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque, though a 355-hp 5.3L V8 engine is available.
You get 17-inch wheels with the WT, black front and rear bumpers, and a standard tailgate. Inside the WT, you’ll find a 7-inch infotainment display, a 3.5-inch monochromatic Driver Information Center, a six-speaker sound system, vinyl seating, and remote keyless entry. Like all 2024 Silverado models, the WT comes with Chevy Safety Assist, which includes a Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and more.

The Chevy Silverado Custom

If you’re looking to upgrade your truck, the Silverado Custom is the first step up from the standard WT, giving you more starting features and options. You’ll find 20-inch wheels on the Custom, body-color front and rear bumpers, heated outside mirrors, and EZ Lift assist with power lock and release for the tailgate. Inside the Custom, you get cloth seating with a 10-way power driver’s seat, remote keyless entry with remote start functionality, cruise control, and carpeted floor covering. The Custom also comes with a Trailering Package that includes a trailer hitch, electrical harness and connector for a trailer, and Hitch Guidance for easy trailering, which you don’t get with the WT.

The Chevy Silverado LT

Next up, we have the LT, which is important to look at if you want a more refined interior than you’ll find on the previous models. Along with the standard TurboMax engine and 5.3L V8, the LT also gives you access to the available 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel, so keep that in mind. You’ll find chrome bumpers and mirror caps on this model, along with body-color door handles.
LT and higher trims received an updated interior recently, which features a stunning 13.4-inch infotainment display with Google built-in, a 12.3-inch Driver Information Center, and heated front seats. You get a heated, wrapped steering wheel in the LT, along with keyless open and start, Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, and an HD Rear Vision Camera for better visibility when backing up.

The Chevy Silverado RST

Moving from one of the two starting trims to the LT is a major upgrade, but jumping to the RST is more subtle. You’ll find larger 18-inch wheels on the RST (the LT has 17-inch wheels) along with body-color front and rear bumpers plus high-gloss Black mirror caps. You get remote start functionality with the RST, but otherwise, it is much like the LT model in terms of its features and options.

The Chevy Silverado Custom/LT Trail Boss

If you like the features of either the Custom or LT model, but you want a truck that delivers impressive off-road performance, then you should check out one of the Trail Boss models. Think of it like taking a great cheeseburger and adding bacon to it—you still get all the other stuff you like, plus trail-ready bacon! The Trail Boss versions of the Custom and LT trims feature a Z71 suspension with Rancho monotube shocks and a two-inch factory lift for added ground clearance and better approach/departure angles. These models come with four-wheel drive (4WD) standard, rather than as an available option, with a heavy-duty air filter, performance Red recovery hooks, and skid plates to protect their undersides.

The Chevy Silverado LTZ

For a more refined version of the LT trim, the LTZ is an amazing choice that features chrome front and rear bumpers, chrome mirror caps, and even chrome door handles (noticing a theme here?). This model comes with 20-inch wheels and a power up and down tailgate that you can open and close automatically using the key fob. Inside, you’ll find a seven-speaker Bose Premium sound system with a Richbass woofer, perforated leather-appointed front seating, 10-way power driver and front-passenger seats, and heated and ventilated front seats. You get a wireless charging pad and extra safety features like Rear Cross Traffic Braking and Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert to make towing even safer with the LTZ.

The Chevy Silverado High Country

If ultimate refinement is what you’re looking for in your truck, then the Silverado High Country is the way to go—think of it as a burger with all the fixings. With the High Country, you can get a 6.2L 420-hp V8 engine for incredible performance; plus, it comes with 20-inch wheels, body-color bumpers, a spray-on bedliner, and six-inch chrome wheel-to-wheel assist steps. You get the Bose seven-speaker sound system in the High Country, along with perforated leather seating, heated rear seats, and Adaptive Cruise Control. GM’s incredible Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology is even available for the High Country, elevating your experience to another level entirely.

The Chevy Silverado ZR2

While the two Trail Boss models are great options for going off-road, if you’re looking for some serious trail performance, then you need to check out the ZR2. This is the ultimate expression of Silverado’s off-road capability, and it comes with either the Turbo Diesel engine or the 6.2L V8. You get 18-inch wheels wrapped in Mud-Terrain Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires, plus performance Red recovery hooks. The ZR2 comes with 4WD and a ZR2 Suspension Package that features Multimatic DSSV dampers and a high-performance lifted suspension. This model also has an exclusive Bison Edition available with stamped-steel bumpers and hot-stamped boron steel skid plates developed in partnership with American Expedition Vehicles.
