For some reason buying a used car never seems like it’s going to be an easy venture.  Either, you’re in an emergency and need a car quick or you’re overwhelmed with the choices and decisions at hand.  Well, it doesn’t have to be a daunting task.

Like any big purchases you make in life, there should be present both elements of seriousness as well as pleasure.  How many of life’s great moments would seem pleasureless if we took it too seriously and never allowed for fun?

What is the kind of car I am looking for?

When you finally get to the dealership and you find a car you are interested in, it is expected that you will have questions for the dealer.  You will want to know why it was traded in.  Usually, dealers will buy back leases from their customers to sell as used cars but what if that’s not the case.  Every car has a history and it is important to know.  You will also want to find out if the car was originally sold from the same dealership.  If the answer is yes, then you know they have repeat customers and that is always a good sign.

Can I Afford this Car?  

This is a big one.  It is very easy to fall in love with what we can’t have.  That’s part of the human condition.  Before you move too quickly, slow down and be honest with yourself.  Maybe you can afford it.  There are always options through financing and loans.  If it fits your honest budget, go ahead and drive it!
