DePaula Chevy Facing Shot and Lot

Chevrolet is making it almost too easy for Chevy dealers around the country to sell their vehicles. Between a history steeped in reliability and cutting-edge innovation, and an avalanche of industry accolades, Chevy vehicles practically sell themselves. The best part for Chevy consumers is the fact that these awards aren’t reserved for just one model or vehicle type. Recently, J.D. Power awarded seven of this year’s Chevy models with top awards for dependability. These 2016 models range from sedans, sports cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks. If you’re in the market for a new vehicle of any kind, the kind you should be scoping out is a Chevy.

Here, we give you a brief rundown of this year’s top dogs from Chevy’s lineup. In addition to being some of Chevy’s best, they are also leading their segments, according to industry experts, and, in some cases, they have been for a while. Check them out and make a move to DePaula Chevy to get in on this award-winning action. A brand likes Chevy should only be sold by a dealership that puts a premium on customer service and that’s exactly what you can expect to experience when you shop at DePaula’s dealership. Before you do, check out the top dogs from this year’s Chevy lineup and see which one might suit your lifestyle the best. We guarantee you’ll have a hard time narrowing it down…

The Most from a Midsize – The Chevy Malibu

2016 Chevy Malibu Sleek Exterior

Most dependable, that is. For the second year in a row, the Chevy Malibu nabbed this distinction. If a sedan is your speed, you need to test drive the Malibu, one of Chevy’s longest running models. A fan favorite, you might say.

With a low starting MSRP of $21,625, the 2016 Malibu is offered in three trim levels: the base L, 1 LS, and 1 LT. Lighter this year by 300 pounds, the Malibu boasts 160 horsepower from its standard 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, and up to 250 horsepower from the available 2.0-liter ECOTEC engine. Fuel efficiency is rated at 27 city and 37 highway mpg. An available hybrid variant offers a whopping 48 mpg city.

Can’t Beat this Compact – The Chevy Equinox

2016 Chevy Equinox LTZ

Chevy’s Equinox is not only the most dependable, it’s also the top ranking compact SUV in Initial Quality, two years running.

Trim levels on the Equinox mirror the Malibu – L, LS, LT – and the starting price point is comparable as well, listed at $22,600. EPA estimates rate the Equinox’s fuel efficiency at 22 city and 32 highway, with horsepower ranging between 182-301. The Equinox is able to tow a maximum of 1,500 pounds, which is great for toting along extra weekend camping gear.

Top-Rated Truck Siblings – The Silverado HD and LD

2016 Chevy Silverado Exterior

Starting with the Silverado HD, a beast of a workhorse, named most dependable for the past two years, as well as top-rated in Initial Quality, is joined by it’s smaller sibling, the Silverado LD. No other light duty pickup truck ranks higher in Initial Quality than the Silverado LD.

For those of you tackling serious workloads, the Silverado 3500HD is ideal. With its towing capacity rated between 13,000-13,800 pounds, and payload of 3,305-6,288 pounds, this heavy duty pickup truck features horsepower between 322-397. Starting at $32,825, the Silverado comes in three cab configurations: regular, double, and crew. Sharing those body styles, the light-duty Silverado 1500 is priced considerably lower, introduced at $27,195. Towing capacity comes in between 5,600-9,400 pounds, backed by 285-420 horsepower, with fuel figures estimated at 18 city and 24 highway mpg. Not bad for a pickup.

Depending on the size of the tasks in your daily grind, either Silverado option is a perfect partner on the worksite.

Dependable Meets Dragster – The Chevy Camaro

2016 Chevy Camaro Hilltop

For four years in a row, Chevy’s Camaro has been celebrated as the most dependable midsize sports car on the market.

Chevy’s beloved muscle car has long been iconic, but increasingly is associated with class-leading dependability. Available as a coupe or convertible, the Camaro pounds the pavement, thanks to anywhere from 275-455 horsepower. For such a speedy performance machine, the Camaro’s fuel economy is rather surprising, measured at 22 city and 31 highway mpg. Opting for the coupe will set you back a minimum $25,700, while the convertible starts at $32,700.

For all the fun afforded by the Camaro, we say spring for the convertible.

Segment-Leading SUV – The Chevy Tahoe

2016 Chevy Tahoe Design

The Tahoe ranks better than any other SUV entrant in Initial Quality. Chevy’s full-size SUV comes in three trim levels – the LS, LT, and LTZ. Fuel efficiency is on par with the SUV segment, returning 16 city and 23 highway mpg. Towing power comes in between 6,400 and 6,600 pounds, depending on equipment. Original MSRP starts at $47,000, moving up to $61,740 for the top-tier LTZ trim. Trust us, it’s worth it.

A Quality Commuter – The Chevy Spark

2016 Chevy Spark City

Compact and ideal for navigating the concrete jungle, not to mention those tight parking spaces, the Chevy Spark, for the second consecutive year, beats out all other city cars when it comes to Initial Quality.

The Chevy Spark is where affordability meets fuel efficiency. The tiny price tag, $12,660, is further boosted by the infrequent need to fill up at the gas pump. Able to get 31 city and 41 highway mpg, the Spark is equipped with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine, generating 98 horsepower. The trim level options include the LS Manual, LS Automatic, 1LT Manual, and 1LT Automatic.

We especially love the Spark’s wild color options, like Lime, Salsa, Electric Blue, Kalamata, and Splash. But, if a more conservative entrance is your preferred style, check out the more neutral shades available, such as Summit White, Silver Ice, Toasted Marshmallow, Black Granite, and Titanium. Either way, you’ll make a statement zipping around the city and taking those tight corners in style. The Chevy Spark is proof that amazing things can come in even the smallest of packages.
