Your Guide to the 2025 Chevy Trax Trim Lineup

When the Chevrolet Trax returned for the 2024 model year after a one-year hiatus, it was better than ever. While still a highly affordable subcompact SUV, it now had a roomier interior that let everyone get comfortable, a more fuel-efficient engine, and a standard array of driver assistance features that had previously been optional, like Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and IntelliBeam automatic high-beam headlights. On top of that, the Trax also got an all-new lineup of trims. Where previously drivers had only two options to choose from, there are now five, all of which have carried over to the 2025 model year.

The Base-Level LS

The LS trim is the most affordable option in the lineup, making it a great entry-level option for drivers on a budget. While it doesn’t have a mind-blowing array of bells and whistles, it has everything you need to get around the Ballston Spa and beyond comfortably and safely. Like all trims of the Trax, it comes standard with a 1.2L Turbo engine that gets 30 MPG for combined city and highway driving, which is an above-average fuel economy rating that will save you money over time. New for 2025, the engine is compatible with E85 ethanol fuel, so you have more options at the gas station.

The stylish exterior features a rear spoiler, bold bodywork, and the iconic Chevy bowtie badge. Inside, you’ll find a comfortable cabin that uses Active Noise Cancellation to keep things quiet and plenty of legroom in both rows. The infotainment system can be controlled with an 8-inch touchscreen, controls mounted to the steering wheel, or voice commands. You can hook your devices up without dealing with cables since wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluetooth streaming for up to two active devices, are standard.

There are also plenty of standard safety features onboard that can help you stay safe whether you’re running errands around town or driving on I-87 during rush hour. Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking work together to help you avoid accidents. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning stops you from drifting out of your lane while the Following Distance Indicator helps you stay a good distance from the vehicle ahead of you. IntelliBeam automatic high-beam headlights let you see everything ahead of you at night without distracting oncoming traffic.

The Sporty 1RS

Upgrade to the 1RS trim and you’ll get a more athletic aesthetic, with black bowtie badges, a black grille insert, red interior accents, a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, exclusive RS badging, and larger 18-inch wheels with a unique pattern and two-toned colorway. Beyond style, you’ll also get features that improve the interior: remote Start lets you start the engine before you get inside so the climate control can get going early, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel keep you warm during chilly New York winters, and carpeted rear floor mats help you keep the cabin clean. These features, along with heated side view mirrors that keep frost at bay, can be added to the LS with the available LS Convenience Package, but come standard when you upgrade to the 1RS trim.

The Comfortable LT

Sitting in the middle of the lineup, the LT is in the Goldilocks zone for drivers looking for the perfect balance between luxury and budget. It comes standard with most of the upgrades found on the 1RS trim, except for the exclusive styling accents. It also doesn’t come standard with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated side view mirrors, but these (along with keyless open) can be added on with the available LT Convenience Package. The LT also has plenty of upgrades that set it apart from the 1RS trim in a positive light.

On the exterior, the LT can be identified by its exclusive badging, silver-painted fascias, and body-color mirror caps. It also sports standard roof-mounted side rails, which are stylish and practical, letting you store cargo outside the cabin. Inside, there’s a six-speaker audio system that’s more powerful than the four-speaker system found on lower trim levels. Audio and other infotainment features can be controlled with the larger 11-inch HD touchscreen and 8-inch driver information center behind the wheel, which make it easier to see graphics and read warnings at a glance. The tech goodies continue in the back seat, where you’ll find additional USB ports at the back of the center console. Everyone will appreciate the automatic climate control, which keeps the cabin at just the right temperature no matter the weather outside.

The Stylish 2RS

If you can’t decide between the 1RS and the LT, you can get the best of both worlds with the 2RS trim. You’ll get the black exterior accents, red interior accents, badging, and heated elements from the 1RS plus the roof rails, audio system, upgraded infotainment setup, and more from the LT all rolled into one trim. On top of that, you’ll also get standard Keyless Open, which lets you lock and unlock the doors without using the key fob, as long as you have it somewhere on you, like in a pocket or a bag. This feature also includes lockout protection to prevent you from locking your key fob in the Trax and is customizable, letting you decide things like which doors unlock.

The Unique ACTIV

The ACTIV is a unique trim with its own sense of style—the exterior boasts a black grille with exclusive titanium-color chrome accents and 18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels. There are also exclusive interior accents and, of course, ACTIV badging to let all your friends in the village know you’re not driving just any SUV. You’ll find the same great features that come standard on the 2RS, plus a standard 8-way power-adjustable driver seat with 2-way power lumbar support, keeping you nice and comfortable whether you’re heading out for groceries or setting off on an epic road trip.

Which Trim is Right for You?

Deciding between these options can feel daunting, but if you take it one step at a time it doesn’t have to be stressful.
